Caribou Barbie, coat hangers, and the real dolts - The Deconstruction of Sarah Palin

We must not allow the deconstruction of Sarah Palin

With all the negative coverage of this historic woman, one would think that she had no right whatsoever to run for public office. It is an outage. The American Woman must speak out in support of Sarah Palin. This author has taken a little liberty with the lyrics of a song made popular by Leapy Lee to illustrate what the mainstream media, the pundits, the politicians, and the makers of the coat hangers continue to subject this representative of American citizens to and all because she is a female who has a backbone. Agree?

Little Arrows Ode to Sarah Palin

There's a little person [is it you?] shooting arrows in the blue and continues to aim them at someone but the question is at who? Aimed at me [Sarah] or aimed at you [Hillary]? It's hard to tell until you're hit. You'll know it when you get one because the arrows hurt a little bit. But when the arrows pierce my family, it gives me a little fit - can someone tell them just to q-u-i-t !Just QUIT!

Little arrows in your clothing, little arrows in your hair when you're a female in politics you'll find those little arrows everywhere. Little arrows that will hit you once and hit you once again, some hit everyone every now and then. Just why are the girls the prime targets for the pain, even by their own gender? It seems the little arrows fall like rain.

There's a person from the other side, some people from my own that should be by my side, shooting arrows from out of the blue. But there's nothing that you can do. Some folks put on armor, but the arrows go straight through. The little arrows that pierce make the American Woman sting, but the blood splatters last longer on the daughters that into this world we bring.

So you see there's no escape. So why not face it and admit that you can not ignore those little arrows when they hurt a little bit. Little arrows in your clothing, little arrows in your hair, when you're in the limelight, and often right, you'll find those little arrows everywhere. But what is fair about sexism, misogyny, or oligarchy? It is fact and no longer can we remain content to only on the sidelines to sit.

What’s a girl to do? Few could survive the arrow slinging that continually targets Sarah Palin and her family. The attacks are meant to punish and derail. The attacks are meant to keep women under the thumb of the powers that be. The attacks are not new to another formidable candidate, Hillary Clinton. Hillary Clinton was called everything in the book, and often the four letter words were misspelled. Those acts of hatred left scars on her supporters and every American Woman. There was one small difference. The women in Sarah Palin’s party, and many men, stood up and said, “Stop it. No more!” Hillary Clinton enjoyed the full throttled support of her dedicated supporters, but did not enjoy the same support from her party - male or female. The American Woman can not allow this abuse of women to continue. We must speak up, loudly, clearly, and in unison.

Perhaps a recap of the little arrows that Sarah Palin and her family have endured is required, especially for those who were not blogging, faxing, emailing, and contacting all during the primary and the general election. Let me tell you, you missed quite a show.  They are in no particular order. Likely all of us have heard the hateful comments about Trigg actually being daughter Bristol’s baby, so the familiar ones will not be listed here. Fair warning: fasten your seatbelts; you are in for a bumpy ride.

September 2008 - Donny Deutsch commented on some positive attributes of women in politics and also made sexist comments about Republican Vice-Presidential nominee Sarah Palin and former Democratic Presidential contender Hillary Clinton.

Deutsch appeared on CNBC's Squawk the Street (Watch the video here) and made several misogynistic comments including praising Palin for earning respect through her ability to make men "want to mate with her" and calling Senator Clinton's loss in the Democratic Primaries a direct result of the fact that she "didn't put a skirt on."

Deutsch also said that "if you were gonna sell a new concept, a Woman in Power, to the American people, if it was a cereal, was a product, what ingredients would you put in? Hillary Clinton never figured it out. She (Sarah Palin) figured it out." Later, he said that it was a "huge lesson that if you have a woman candidate "you gotta first sell her as a woman" before you can sell her as a candidate."

September 2008 Marjorie Cohn, an author and professor at Thomas Jefferson School of Law and President of the National Lawyers Guild made this statement in September 2008 when she warned of a Christian Theocracy with McPalin:  McCain has pledged to appoint judges in the mold of Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Samuel Alito; these would also be Palin’s preferred judges. Another conservative on the Court would mean that Roe v. Wade will be overruled. That will return us to back alley abortions with coat hangers.

2008 CNN’s John Roberts said, “Children with Down syndrome require an awful lot of attention. The role of Vice President, it seems to me, would take up an awful lot of her time, and it raises the issue of how much time will she have to dedicate to her newborn child?” Dana Bash responded to Roberts’ suggestion by saying, “If it were a man being picked who also had a baby, but — you know, four months ago with Down syndrome, would you ask the same question?

2008 On ABC, Good Morning America co-anchor Bill Weir said, “Adding to the brutality of a national campaign, the Palin family also has an infant with special needs. What leads you, the Senator, and the Governor to believe that one won’t affect the other in the next couple of months?”

ABC’s Cokie Roberts later interjected, “If you get a lot of questions about who’s taking care of the children…traditionally has very much angered women voters when women candidates are asked those questions and male candidates never are.”

2008 FOX News’ Alan Colmes got into it as well. Colmes wrote on his blog that Palin didn’t practice proper prenatal care before she had her baby with Down syndrome. Colmes is apparently now embarrassed by his assertion, because he seems to have removed the post. This link to the post shows a 404 error; however, Google may still have a record of his original post. Colmes later rebutted that what he said did not match what others thought he said.

2008 On September 2, ABC News correspondent David Wright said, “In small groups, Palin can seem like the young, trophy running mate.”  Now, just tell me would ANYONE accuse Joe Biden of being a trophy running mate?

2008 YouTube videos abound demeaning Sarah Palin. This talks of her “trailer trash” photos, that she had a shotgun wedding; she and Todd eloped and had a child eight months later. Watch it here if you must. Then there is a video named, "Sarah Palin is Evil." See it here if you are sitting down.

2008 Caribou Barbie plays hard to get: Inter[e]sting things are happening in ‘tardland. Caribou Barbie has been trying to play it all ways. Sometimes she shows up, sometimes she doesn’t, but never does she really say what she’s going to do. I think there are a couple of reasons for this. The main reason is that she’s a fairly astute politician (although she’s as dumb as a mud fence in just about every other way,) and she doesn’t want to tie herself too tightly to the ‘tards that are running the Republican Party. And yet…. she depends on those ‘tards for most of her support, especially in primary season.

Watching her try to walk this tightrope will be one of the more interesting aspects of the 2012 campaign cycle.

Gov. Sarah Palin’s spokesman said Monday that congressional Republicans were mistaken in announcing the governor would headline one of the biggest Republican gatherings of the year, the Senate-House dinner in Washington, D.C. The governor’s office said Palin has not even confirmed she would be attending the event. “I communicated with the governor directly and she did not know anything about it,” said Bill McAllister, the governor’s spokesman.

The chairmen of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, Texas Sen. John Cornyn, and the National Republican Congressional Committee, Texas Rep. Pete Sessions, sent out a press release Monday announcing Palin as keynote speaker for the June 8 event.

It’s the annual fundraiser for the Republican Party’s congressional re-election efforts.

The NRSC and NRCC announcement of Palin’s leading role in the event made national news. The Associated Press distributed the story and it appeared on the Web sites of the Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, Dallas Morning News and USA Today, among many others.

McAllister said Palin asked him why The Associated Press was reporting that she was going to do this. “I pointed out the (National Republican Senatorial Committee) press release and she was like, no,” he said.

NRSC spokesman Brian Walsh said Monday night that the staff of the governor’s national political action committee, SarahPAC, had confirmed Palin would indeed speak at the Senate-House dinner.

“The committees have confirmed this with the governor’s political staff at SarahPAC, not her official staff in Juneau, so it’s understandable why there may be a miscommunication here,” Walsh said.

SarahPAC spokeswoman Meg Stapleton could not be reached for comment Monday night.

McAllister said Palin is aware of the event but has not confirmed. He said he had no idea why it was announced.

“I don’t know, I’m kind of stunned. … She’s been invited, but that’s as far as it’s gone from our end, is my understanding,” McAllister said.

The ‘tards who run Gopperdom desperately need her to legitimize them in the eyes of their rank and file. She, on the other hand, probably realizes from the 2008 campaign that she will require more than the inbred base to carry even formerly “safe” states like North Carolina and Virginia. She has to reinvent herself, but she dares not do TOO much reinventing.

Maybe she can pray for an answer, or get her witch chaser to give her some kind of a potion that makes her appear to be all things to everyone. In any case, all this focus on her is the whole point anyway. For her, attention is orgasmic. Source: http://reconstitution.us/rcnew/?p=4372

October 3 2008 Geoffrey Dickens reports: Matthews: Palin Looked Into Camera Like a 'Dolt'
After the vice presidential debate Chris Matthews criticized Sarah Palin for, of all things, looking into the camera because it made her look like a "dolt." In fact, the "Hardball," host took several stylistic shots at Palin that implied the Alaska Governor wasn't very intelligent.

October 2008 Matthews Rips Palin: Somebody Needs To ‘Give Her A Copy Of The Constitution To Read’ This was his tantrum after Sarah Palin stated she did not know what the VP job was; the content was that if the job was a figurehead job that was not productive, she may not want it.

October 2008 Matthews Mocks Palin for God comments in Speech: “I’m just curious about how these — I know Joan you’re giggling because you wonder how all these things work together in this ideological symmetry. You have a religious belief that goes in one direction, and your politics goes in the same direction.  I just wonder whether anybody ever compares notes in these two categories. Like oil was put here as a blessed event, but maybe it was put here millions of years ago, and if so, let’s reconsider some of our literary interpretations these days. Go ahead.”

September 2008 Possibly in jest, but hurtful just the same. Have you tried the Sarah Palin Baby Name Generator? The random name generator is the latest piece of political comedy sweeping the nation. The generator imagines the weird names Palin would give you if you were her child. It generates new names for even Palin's babies!

January 3 2009 Teasing a segment on the planned Palin book during his show “Hardball,” Chris ‘Tingle Running Up His Leg’ Matthews said: “If she can read, if she can write, she’ll make some money.” Matthews repeated his suggestion that Palin could not write the book later in the show. “The question is who actually will write the Palin book,” he said. “The only politician I know who can write is Barack Obama.”

March 2009 Babble names Sarah Palin a Mom we love to hate

April 2009 Then there is the case of so many court cases that have been filed against Sarah Palin. This even
suggests that race may be involved. Give. Me. A. Break. There have been numerous frivilous lawsuits filed against
her. The Palin family is not rich by most standards. Is this yet another way to deconstruct Sarah Palin. She must
surely be considered mighty threat in the future if they are working overtime to bring her down.
                Can't WE do something?

                April 2009
Eminem's new video is a sick case of misogyny, objectification of women in general, and misogyny of
Sarah Palin in particular as she is the only political figure featured on the video.Eminem is an enemy of
The American Woman and all The America Daughters! Do we want to organize a protest against this video?
If so, the time is now. If you are brave enough the video access it from below, if not skip the video and read
what the news, real and fake, have to say about it. We contend that you have to know of these things in order
to combat them. If this were your daughter, grand or great granddaughter, would you let it slide?

Cheers for Bill O'Reilly who had a segment on this vile video. He stated that Fox was the ONLY msm that
questioned the video. And from a Google search, with listings below, that seems to be correct. However,
O'Reilly stated that it is ONLY the 25 and under group that listens to such and dismissed it as such. Did
he ignore the fact that these young people comprise an entire generation? Do we really want our
great-granddaughters treated in such a manner? What's next, Sharia Law?
Is this how we want our great-grandson's to treat the opposite sex? As of yesterday, the O'Reilly commentary
on this video was not posted on Fox News' website. Should we contact Bill O'Reilly and let him
know that sexism, misogyny, and objectification of The American Woman is not to be tolerated by
                any age group?

  • Must I go on? Use your computer skills to get informed. Google Palin plus keywords like sexism and misogyny and  news names like Olberman, Matthews, Maddow, CNN, MSNBC, NBC and see for yourself what has been the norm for the mainstream media. The abuse all started with Hillary Clinton's candidacy for President in 2008, to get the real depth of the abuse Google Clinton plus the same keywords above. Go to Daily Kos, no don’t. Your heart could not take it.

Please research and come back here to comment on what you have learned. We must educate ourselves to the world of politics for the shift now is for the politicians to deconstruct our country; and one of the ways is to deconstruct Sarah Palin and any other viable female candidate. Of particular interest is the comment about ‘coat hangers’ in relationship to Sarah Palin and no other conservative MALE candidate - no male candidate period has EVER been held to such standards. It is not about coat hangers, it is about saving our country. Agreed?
